It is with much sadness TCVA reports the passing on one of TACAMO brothers, Robert Lee Thomas, Jr.
** February 4, 1958 - October 23, 2017 **
Robert Lee Thomas, Jr., was born in Washington, Pennsylvania, on February 4th, 1958, to Robert Lee Thomas, Sr., and Loretta Mae Thomas. Robert was the oldest of three children born to this union. He passed away from this life on October 23, 2017. Robert, graduated from Washington High School, in 1977, and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy, in the rate of Aviation Structural Mechanic-Equipment (AME). Robert Lee Thomas, Jr., took his job in the military very seriously and he was recognized for that dedication. Through his military years Robert, received the NASC Instructor Award for his civic duty. This awesome acknowledgement was awarded by the Pensacola Council of Navy League for voluntary service. AME1 Thomas, was selected as Commander Patrol Wings, Pacific Sailor of the Year in 1992. Then in 1993, he was selected as Master Training Specialist for the Schools Command.
Funeral Services were on October 30, 2017 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula and full military honors was held at Biloxi National Cemetery.
